Hands on Humanities
Australian Pavilion welcomes four groups of 30 x students from GEMS Modern Academy leadership team, as part of a series of hands-on-workshops on the Pavilion Forecourt stage as well as sporting activation at Aussie Park on, Monday 14 and Tuesday 15 February.
This workshop educates young minds in giving and sharing, whether that be special objects in your life which would help someone in another country, who doesn’t know you and cannot speak your language, understand who you are, where you live, and what is important in your culture and community.
The project ‘Then and Now: Our Story in a Box’ is supported by the Commonwealth of Australia through the Council for Australian-Arab Relations, which is part of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Students will be bringing in objects they would like included in the ‘Dubai in a Box’ they will be creating following the workshops at the Pavilion. The students will go through a day of activities at the Australian Pavilion included workshops, outdoor sporting events and guided immersive tours.
This event will be run by Dr Heba Abd el Gawad and she is available for interviews on the day.
